Set on a quiet hillside in Santa Eulalia del Río near the historic Puig de Missa, this 32-room hotel revives a building that has been part of Ibiza since 1933. It is about as far from the club circuit as the island gets.
Ibiza has spent decades being associated with one very specific version of itself. It is not an unfair association, but it is an incomplete one. Santa Eulalia del Río, on the island’s quieter eastern coast, has always represented something different: a more unhurried pace, a stronger connection to the island’s agricultural and fishing past, and the kind of light-soaked Mediterranean calm that Ibiza has always had but does not always advertise.
One Shot Buenavista opened here in late April, in a building with more history than most hotels on the island can claim. The original Hotel Buenavista was founded in 1933, making it one of Ibiza’s pioneer hotels, and has been officially recognised as an emblematic establishment by the local council of Santa Eulalia del Río. The One Shot renovation has preserved the original facade as a deliberate gesture of continuity, updating everything behind it with interiors designed by Alfaro-Manrique Atelier, the Madrid-based architectural and interior design studio.
The 32 rooms are distributed across two buildings set in an elevated position close to the Puig de Missa, one of the most historically significant landmarks in Santa Eulalia. Several rooms have sea views; others have private terraces or direct access to the gardens. The facilities are considered rather than showy: an outdoor pool, fitness and yoga areas, a bar-cafeteria and breakfast service. The tone throughout is one of a hotel that understands it is competing on calm and character rather than spectacle, which in 2026 Ibiza is a more interesting proposition than it might sound.
