Denbies is England’s largest single-estate vineyard, covering 265 acres of Surrey Hills hillside just outside Dorking, and the hotel sits right in the middle of it. The setting is the whole point: rows of vines stretching towards Box Hill and the North Downs, a working winery on the estate, and enough walking trails and outdoor space to fill a couple of days without leaving the grounds.

The hotel itself is straightforward and well-suited to the location: clean, comfortable rooms designed as a base for exploring rather than as a destination in their own right. The location is better connected than it looks on a map. Dorking station is a short walk from the hotel, with direct trains from London Waterloo and London Victoria taking around 50 minutes. London Gatwick is about 20 minutes by car, Heathrow around 40. Box Hill and Westhumble station on the Mole Valley line is also close, useful for arriving on foot via the North Downs Way.
