The hotel
Tania Milos is a small hotel above Pollonia that earns its reputation through the things that cannot be manufactured at scale: the breakfast made from scratch each morning with local ingredients, the 270-degree sea view from every room, and the straightforward warmth of a property that is run by someone who has thought carefully about what makes a guest feel genuinely welcome rather than merely accommodated. The reviews are consistent in a way that stands out. Guests who are particular about service quality tend to describe it as the best hotel they found on the island.
The experience
The experience at Tania Milos is defined by personal hospitality rather than luxury amenity. Tania and her team know every guest and make specific, well-considered recommendations for the island’s beaches, boat trips and restaurants: we’re talking the kind of knowledge that distinguishes a hotel run by someone who loves the place from one managed by a team following a protocol. The natural seawater swimming in front of the hotel means the Aegean is accessible without transport, and the sea view from the private terraces (270 degrees of uninterrupted water) is one of the most generous of any property in Pollonia. Breakfast is served on the terrace each morning with local honesty.
The rooms
Ten rooms across four categories: Superior Double, Deluxe, Triple and Luxury Suite, all come with private sea-view verandas furnished with loungers, a table and chairs. The first-floor Deluxe room has a 25-square-metre veranda with panoramic views of the sea and the sunset. The Luxury Suite, also on the first floor, adds a small lounge and a second balcony with an unobstructed view across to Kimolos. Triple rooms accommodate a third guest with a built-in single alongside the double. All rooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, LCD TVs, minibars, safes, kettles and Korres toiletries in bathrooms fitted with walk-in showers, bathrobes and slippers.
Food and drink
Breakfast is the meal to plan around — prepared fresh each morning by the team using local island ingredients: Cycladic honey, cheeses from the island, freshly baked pastries and seasonal fruit. Served on the sea-view terrace. No restaurant or bar for other meals, but Pollonia’s fish tavernas — a short walk along the waterfront — cover lunch and dinner with quality that guests consistently praise on Tania’s recommendation.
The neighbourhood
Pollonia sits on the northern coast of Milos, five minutes’ walk from a long sandy beach and the village’s waterfront fish restaurants. Ferries to Kimolos run several times daily from the small harbour. Natural swimming is available directly in front of the hotel. Adamas port is 20 minutes by car, Sarakiniko Beach 15 minutes. A rental car is strongly recommended for exploring the island’s beaches beyond Pollonia.
What makes it special
Tania Milos is run by Tania and her team with the kind of attention to each guest that is only possible at very small scale. Every room has an uninterrupted sea view and a private veranda facing the Aegean, the breakfast is prepared personally each morning using local ingredients — island honey, fresh pastries, Cycladic cheeses — and the natural seawater area directly in front of the hotel makes swimming immediately accessible without requiring a car. Multiple guests have described it as the best place they have stayed in Milos, and the consistency of that sentiment across reviewers with very different expectations is a reliable signal.

Best for
Couples and solo travellers who prioritise warmth of hospitality and value over architectural design or resort-scale amenities. Tania Milos is the right choice for guests who want to feel welcomed rather than processed. The absence of a pool means it suits guests comfortable with natural swimming. Not for guests who want a pool or a bar.
